Hello All,

I have a datsun 1200 ute which I am parting out (SYDNEY).

It is a ute which was fully restored, new floors, quarters, interior, restored dash, tonneau cover, has an ATE race engine A12, with A14 internals, and all the good bits, hi comp 10:1, balanced, lightened flywheel, weber carb, extractors, mild cam, oval port head.. engine has done less than 2000kms since installed. she is still brand new.

exhaust system is brand new, less than 2000kms old.

set of TRX wheels, good. plus another set of TRX wheels which 2 are damaged.

Ute was damaged as it was put into a gutter.

has a Stanza strut upgrade but I cant say they are straight now.

everything on the ute was overhauled over the build, including brakes, wheels, engine, the list goes on.

the ute is fixable if somebody has the time and skills to un pick a front end and reinstall.. I have run out of time with too many projects on the go.

I would prefer to sell it complete, but obviously my options are limited so i will consider parting it out.

a little bit of info on the car.
http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/v ... id=431019#forumpost431019

I will post pics of the car.

I would like $3500 for the whole car plus all spares...

engine alone cost more than this.

otherwise it will be parted out.

this was my stepsons car which I built, and believe me I am taking a big loss on this. please keep any offers respectful as lowballers will not be answered.

The car is repairable, and is not listed on any written off registers. I simply cannot invest any more of myself or money into this car. I am cutting my losses.

please put EOI for parts here as well.

Thanks

Ed

Shoota,

As you know this was my stepsons car.. he managed to bump a gutter sideways in the wet weather.... now according to him and witnesses the speed wasn't great but it's done enough damage.

the shock has ben absorbed by the front subframe and it's a little tweaked.

it is fixable with some metal working and massaging but I've had enough... the car didn't form a bond between us, rather I just felt like a free mechanic and pit crew during this entire time.. it became obvious the kid really isn't into cars like me.. so i've decided to sell it rather than fix it.

i wont think about it because it gives me the $hits.. I put in hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars into this..

I'll be sad to see it go, as I had planned on reclaiming this for myself later.

thanks for asking.

Cheers

Ed

Terrible news there Ed, sorry to hear it hasn't been such a good ending.

I would be interested in the stanza struts even though they are bent. Is there a brake booster with them?

I had a look through your thread and it really was a great build, an example piece I reckon.

Ive had some interest in parts but my preference is to move this on as a whole.

I think the price is reasonable so that you could make some money back on parts if you wanted. I would but I don't have the time, the space. I have a 42 Ford pickup project in progress which takes up all my space.

We took some pics last weekend and the car to be fixed will need new subframe rails due to damage and rust and also a new rad support due to rust.

All other parts of the car are OK, as they were replaced 2 years ago.

A good wheel was placed on the front left, and I attempted to show the misalignment.

Actual kms on engine is 4,225km since Ernie at ATE built it... so yeah it's basically brand new and it sounds cammy and feels new too...

good side.

Interior.. pretty perfect except for a rub through starting on driver side seat. (not in pic).
dash was recovered.

as mentioned the price is $3500, plus a tray full of spares and bits.

album is here... for some reason pics arent sizing large.

Ernie,

I could fix it with a front cut, off another car... but i now have no space to work in nor time. I have my project in the garage now. wasn't really planning on having to fix up the Datsun again... a shame because I just ended the lease on my workshop space.

If anybody happens to have a front cut,, feel free to chime in, I could change my mind easily.

it's worthwhile for somebody to fix up in preference to parts.

Cheers

Ed

cant claim insurance and repair it? i had a firewall forward swap done to the rallycar for $1500, i supplied the new front end. So not too expensive to even put a whole new front on
