Gasket goo or paper gaaket should stop most bimetal reactions. It's usually when they have direct contact

fits perfect looks great too, it is very rigid, no concern about 2mm thickness at all

i have pics but the mrs drained all my internet data, i can post them on the 1st of next month if desired, datsunbeginner if you send your email address i will send them to you now

if you had another batch cut i would take 1-2mm off the entire outer circumference/surface as it overhangs the block boss/face marginally

Thanks for the help 1200rallycar and lamb daiquiri! Very happy to hear that the cover plate fits well in both trials.

Was there any leaks?

I still have the option of making them out of mild steel, alloy, or stainless.

However if there are out of steel the thickness would be 2mm or 3mm where as if I get them in alloy I will try for 5mm to 6mm. Depends on cost of producing.

Could only leak if the old gasket wasn't removed properly. 3mm is plenty for aluminum
