Hey guys, I've been doing some digging about fiberglass bolt on flares for engineering. I can't seem to find any info regarding Vic laws. I've seen a lot of 240zs using flares but not sure if they all have it engineered or not. I'm planning to go 9jj on the rear whilst also chopping the rear quarters. Do I need to get both the chop and the flare engineered. Flares are going to be attached via rivets ? Cheers for any feedback

Had my car engineered in vic with flares. (fiberglass ones that were glued on and moulded to body with bog)

engineer didn't care about them at all in the process, i think he asked about increased track but because i was running stanza suspension (which is designed for wider track) that wasn't an issue either. i sort of remember measuring the track with him and as it was under a maximum for all cars it was fine

Are 9" wide wheels allowed? I thought Vic was the most strict, allowing only 25 mm wider than stock.

Track increases up to 25 mm are OK.

How much did the engineering cost 1200rally? I'm currently looking for an engineer! Just so the cops don't hassle me about it too much.

Vic probably is the most strict ddgonzal but o well :P

You have to get approval for car mods?

mine was $880 all up ($200 for first inspection and the rest on final inspection including brake test)

I used Sanjay Bhide. Seems a popular choice and i was pretty happy with the way he goes about it

engine, brakes, suspension, diff, seats, gearbox

i don't think the price varies a lot between engineers or even for how much your getting certified

mattndew- for some things yes, particularly brakes and major engine swaps
