Datsun E1 engine was 1189 cc from 1960-1969 Datsun 310, 220, 320, 410 and other old-style vehicles. It's a heavy cast iron case 4-speed. It does not bolt up to an A-series engine.

But it can be made to fit, with tunnel modifications, adapter plate, and machining.

Thank you for the reply. It seems impossible to find a 4 or 5 speed for my A-14 in the USA! Do you all have that problem down-under?
Are there other standard trannies that would fit the A-14? From other car/engines? ( just as a silly hypothetical example: ( Oh yes, the tranny from the KA24 fits the A-14 even the bell housing!!!) ( I wish) lol

Gearboxes for A14 are not rare here in the USA. They were fitted to all B210 from 1975-1978, and most B310 (210) 1979-1982 (except A12A-powered 210). Those are the bolt-up transmission options in USA. The national used part hotline has a couple dozen of them: http://car-part.com from $50 on up to $150.

If you get a B210 5-speed, be aware it takes a different driveshaft. So be sure to get the matching driveshaft, which is same as B210 automatic driveshaft.

There is a 5-speed for sale on eBay listed as "Datsun 210 Transmission" for $999. A fair price for a rebuilt unit.

Awesome! Thank you!!! Yes my 210 is currently an automatic , which is going kaput, but I'm putting my A-14 in my 410 wagon and i want a 5 speed. Ive made the 410 into a rat rod, and drive it almost daily. Im putting a single cam KA24 into the 79 210 wagon with a 5 speed attached.

That leaves me with a spare E1 for my 64 nl320 should I need parts etc, and both cars will be more enjoyable as I rotate them as my daily drivers! Thanks again!!

A Can/Am box is a relay board made by a couple of guys in Seattle. Contact: icehouse

It is certainly not needed for a swap -- you can instead use the relays from the S13/S14 wiring harness, or from other 1990s Nissans. However, the Can/Am box makes for a neat & tidy installation.
