Can anyone tell me what the hell this is and where it came from. I am rebuilding my carb and found this just lying in the bottom of the acc pump.

I don't recognise it from that view, it looks like a counterweight of some sort but not likely to be part of the carburettor. How about opening its twin and seeing if it is also in that carb?

Yes, I have a Scooby, a 2006 Forester, love it too, especially the heated seats, so warm and toasty on winter days

Looks like Mikuni PHH carburetor?

Looks like the pump spring and the little rectangle piece looks like it doesn't belong

Is the red circle the place where you found the little rectangle piece?

I see no rectangle piece in the PHH parts breakdown diagram

haha woops sorry guys, yeh its a mikuni. Yeh the circle was where i found it.
Well i put it back together with new seals and left that part out and it works great so im thinking it might have been a foreign object.

I also have a forester and it is good with the heated seats ;)
