The real next challenge is making a custom mount for the transmission
For proper engineering, I recommend using the stock mount:

From a B210 or B310, bolts to the 60A 5-speed. Still available new

The fastest/simplest/easiest way to fit a 60A 5-speed is to make this out of a flat piece of steel:

drill 4 holes

with the stock rubber mount

It also needs two 20mm spacers -- for example, stacked washers -- for the 60A (not needed for 60L)

But the above crossmember has a disadvantage: The reverse switch won't fit unless you move/remove the tunnel brackets.

For the most factory-looking install, Remove the original 1200 crossmember brackets and move them back

The brackets are tack-welded, so you can drill out the welds, and remove the brackets in one piece.

This has the advantages:
* Looks factory
* 60-series reverse switch will now fit
* An even simpler steel piece can be used (straight instead of U-shaped crossmember)

Alternatively the left-side tunnel bracket can be removed (so that the reverse switch has room) and then a wide crossmember can be bolted to the floor pans. It does not look stock but works OK

DD, you are forgetting that the previous owner removed the "ears" that mount the stock transmission.

This is why I have to go the custom route. Have to read a few pages back to refresh your memory.

Missing tunnel brackets to bolt the transmission?

You can
* Reinstall them. Sheet metal shop can fabricate new ones
or
* Bolt a flat crossmember to the floor panels

For the last there is a good writuup. Simple plate can be used with A-series gearbox and normal size exhaust. Use extra-large washers on the top side of the floor pan

Here's another idea. This is what they do for Datsun 280Z when fitting a V8

you can buy it at http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Part ... MountingInstructions.html

Picture update.

Wrapped the main wiring from the battery under the tray in protective plastic tubing. Wire tires added every couple of inches. Mounted some wiring holders along the route.

Installed the room lamp. Soldered some wires for the new door switches. LED light to be installed.

Does anyone know if my wiper arm is flipped in this image?

Should it be under the mount or over the mount as shown?

Had my family mechanic install the King Springs. Rotors are machined. Wheel bearings and seals serviced.

This is the washer that I was talking about a few posts back that is causing me some headaches installing the radius arm bushings.

The only problem with the 280z kit is that they don't sell the transmission bracket alone.
