Hi Guys,

I bought new handbrake cable from Bprojects:

http://www.datsun1200.asia/category/select/pid/9258

However the left cable (single cable) seems to be a bit longer then the original one. However when I pull the handbrake cable it does stop the wheels.

Was wondering if I should get the cable shorten, swap with with the original or just leave it like this?

There is another one on Bprojects:

http://www.datsun1200.asia/category/select/cid/377/pid/9260

However the overall length seems to be the same.

I tried rotating the backing plate but this position(pic attached) seems to be the best.

Thanks for your help in advance :)

* Looks like the bracket on the back of the diff housing is upside down, cable should be above the drain plug
* The left cable is one piece all the way up to the middle of the car, so length matter in regards to which car it is designed for

What are you fitting it to? 1200 Coupe? 1200 Sedan?

Hi DD,

It is for a 1200 ute.

Diff is actually upside down in that picture.

Got a better picture with it attached to the ute now.

Does it look normal? or am I doing something wrong?

Yep, Datpilot recons I have got my backing plate mixed up.

Will try switching it over 2night, hopefully that will fix it.

Problem is that I have got my new bearings pressed in :(. Will try to swap the axles around.
