Hi. I'm being offered an A14 from a 210gx. Apparently, the previous owners did not change the oil as often as they should. What are your thoughts on the condition of the bearings? To me they seem ok considering the lack of oil changes. Would it be ok to skip on the bearing change?

They are absolutely pitted and worn out. Put new ones in

Bearings are inexpensive. My last set cost $14 on eBay. Easy to put in too. set conrod bearings $21 Rockauto.com

More importantly is the crank worn. Use plastigauge now to check the clearances and a micrometer to check the journals. See our tech article: Bearings. If all is good put in a set of tri-metal bearings (same kind the Datsun factory used F770 type such as Sealed Power CP series}

Thanks ddgonzal. I will try that first.

As for the bearings, I was hoping to save my self the labor ;). But you're right. I should just rebuild the whole motor. It's already out.
