Let's see some picks of current or past rides, or just renderings of cool cargo haulers!

I am looking at swapping an A12 with an A15 in my 1200 ute. I will run twin SU carburettors with extractors. Any suggestions on what I can do to this engine to get the maximum out of it?
Will I have to have the cam ground for racing application? Productive comments will be appreciated.

Well it depends on what you want

A racing cam means high-rpm power. Do you rev your A12 up to 6000 rpm now? If you never do, you won't like a racing cam. With racing cam, you will shift higher than 6000 rpm, where the stock A15 makes peak power

I would skip the extractors. Use a cast iron extractor (factory GX-style exhaust manifold) is quieter and makes just as much power at 6800 rpm. Plus more durable, last longer. Long-tube xtractors are only better if you tune them for a specific RPM range. Some just like the sound of tubular extractors

The stock ute 4.11 rear diff is a great compromise between quick acceleration and fuel economy. But if you have taller than stock 12" tyres, I would go with a steeper diff like a 4.375 or 4.675 from a Vanette in order to regain some acceleration

The other way people get the most out of an A15 is to put higher gear diff like a 3.7 or 3.45, keep the exhaust stock and fit taller tyres. This way it will get the most fuel economy, but the A15 will still accelerate as well as the A12 while getting better highway fuel economy. But then better than all that is a 5-speed overdrive

What do you hope to get out of it?
