1982 Datsun 1400 bakkie (low roof) R 59,950 at automart.co.za

* has Datsun 1400 decals (sometime 1982? rebranded Nissan 1400)
* 1980s style side indicators
* 1980s ute grille
* 1980s brown interior

This one has a 1975-style 1200 bumper, haven't seen that on a bakkie before

The early Champ/Deluxe wheels might be from a newer bakkie

Looks like a Beekman Super Canopy

I would say this Bakkie is from the 1980s. Maybe even earlier. Seeing that it the Nissan 1400 was in production in RSA during the early 1990s and then ended with the Nissan champ in the early 2000s.

yer, I telephoned Rosslyn in 2007 and spoke to the manager about tour of the factory. He was friendly but not encouraging ... when the phone call was over I thought "that's odd, maybe he doesn't get many calls from overseas". Regardless, I was planning the trip when we got the news that the factory was shutting down. I figure he knew ahead of time but couldn't tell me ... after that I used the money I'd saved to buy my ute

Anyways, I've put together a guide to all years of the B120/120Y/B140: B140 Model Changes

This one sold earlier this year in Western Cape.
It has all the features of the first posting:
* NISSAN 1400 wing decal
* styled steel wheel with 'N' centre caps
* Tailgate with small 'NISSAN' flat S decal and right-side 1400 decal
* Brown interior
* early-style steering wheel

But the master cylinder is a later style and the grille badge has been removed

It appears to be a Beekman Super Canopy, judging by the back window, hinges and badge



Compare to this Beekman, with different side windows. There were several variations of the Super Canopy

This private import to England sold for £7,600 at auction in 2022

It looks very stock

* Coupe plastic grille (not Sunny Truck grille)
* unique B140 bumper with lights
* DATSUN grille badge left side

* Tailgate has 'DATSUN' lettering 1980-1983, maybe to 1985
