Engine wont start when cold!! |

im having trouble with an a12. when i try to start it when its a cold day it takes me about 25 times to start the stupid ting. after ive driven it i can let it sit for 3 hourse and it will start 1st go. what should i do to fi this?

nup its manual. it seems to be tuned ok. it runs good. it just doesnt start wen first thing in the morning

have you checked the spark plugs? and the contact points?

yeah man. the points are like 2 weeks old and plugs about a month.ill give the plugs a clean and see what happens. i was going to change the leads(just for the sake of it) what do u think? ive got a new coil, new dizzy cap, new rotor button, new points, new condenser. haha what else??

Carbi problem, my guess. Try throwing in 20-50ml petrol in the carbi whilst cranking.

Don't bother replacing parts, it's likely a waste of time and money.
First check that the choke butterfly valve is closing all the way. If it's not, that may be the entire problem.
Next, check that the fuel bowl has fuel in it after sitting overnight. That's where the Hitachi really shines, you can see the fuel level from outside. If it doesn't you'll have to crank the engine to get fuel in it before you can expect it to start.
Finally, check the accelerator pump for proper action. When you move the throttle, does a nice steady shot of fuel come out? If not that's why it don't start easy.

I had the same problem before and I installed a DGV weber and fully rebuilt and tuned by carb specialist and still having the problem after the swap
