this is a quick question, but i was wondering if i removed the valve cover off an l18 to polish it would I have to replace the gasket?it was rebuilt about 2 months ago and has not been ran much
any info wood help thnx

There's no telling. You might have to replace it, even though it's only a couple of months old. Sometimes it'll come off clean.

if i was you i would get a new one anyway they are only about $8 at the most and then you know it will be fine!

Yo, ApHaSia4504.

I'm glad to hear, that youre polishing the L series valve cover and not chroming or painting it.

They look great when polished.

Go to this website to find out more about polishing and using chromed bolts for the L valve cover.
This site is for Z car lovers, but I'm sure you'll find alot of info in regards to the L18, cause the motors are similiar.

just for a little more info i plan on bead blasting my valve cover alittle bit then jus polishing the hell out of it with wax or sumtin and go from there, and doing this because i have heard stories of chromed valve covers over heating so im goin the safe route and ill try and post some pics later on
