The George Wood Memorial rally is on this saturday night. It run buy the Puegot car club but it is a multie car event.
Central control is at wesburn oval thats where you can get your spectator notes from & the roads from spec to spec point are great fun to drive as well. I competed in it last year in a 1600 there is always a lot of datos in it. Its a great night out.

Well,

The event starts at Powelltown Recretational Reserve this year, (behind the timber yard). It started at Wesburn last year.

First car starts at 8:30pm

Yes,

I had my 15 year old nephew navigating for the first time ever. He had very little idea where we were on the map the whole night. The car was overheating, voltage drop, driving ligts flicking on and off, missed one observation that didnt get written down the card. Despite all the problems, if we hadnt missed the observation we would have won the event.

Good variety of cars to see.

We didnt finish the event the clutch packed up 5 kms into the first stage but we were able to keep going & still ran first in that stage. We were having a good run untill we fell off the road but we still managed 9th place thanks to a competitor in a commodore with a sick navigator pulled us out. While we were stuck we wached a suburu fly off the same corner & go down the bank about 30meters down. Then the alternator packed up just before the service point that was the end of the event so we went to central control & drank beer.
You would probably know the car it is p510 with serious suspention writen on it. It is on datrats website under p510 rebuild
& that was my first event as navigator as well just as well i knew the area it in.
