Hi there,
I know this is not a 1200 question but a mate of mine has just bought a datto 1000 ute which is in need of a new steering pitman or idler arm, but he cant find one anywhere.
Just wondering if any of you could help him out as to where he might get one or if its the same as another datto or something.
I aint much use to him as I pretty much only know Mitsubishi/Chrysler stuff.

Please help

welcome to the club.

you say you know chrysler stuff so i'd say your in the states.

tell us more so we can better help you.

It's a 1200 site, but 1000's are fine to.

US residency is not a pre-requisite for Chrysler /Mpoar knowledge, & Datsun 1000's were not sold in the US, however it would be helpfull if Kodos added his home country to his profile.

Do you want a pitman arm, or an idler arm? They are a bit diferent from each other.

Sorry guys, updated now

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure as it's not my car but he was saying the piman arm bush is flogged so I think I'll go with that. He did mention tha idler too so I dont know if there is a problem with that as well. From what he's told me is that hes tried pedders and stuff but with no luck and he cant rego the car till its fixed.
All I know is that its a different front end setup to the 1200 and on.

Any ideas on how he repair it? Or where to find spares (location not a prob) for the 1000?

(Will endevour to find out more when I see him next)
