G'day all you Tassie datto owners.
Just thought I'd let you know that I will be entering the green 120y coupe into a car show which is being held down in Rosny, Hobart, by Shannons Insurance.
I went with my brother in his corolla last year as a spectator, and it was an excellent day.
There was heaps of cars, including 3 or four Datto's. One was a fully restored dark blue 1200 wagon, a 180b, and 2 1000 wagons, one of which had an A15 turbo in it.
I also saw a white 1600 turbo.
It is on sunday 16th October from 10am-3pm, at Rosny.
It was a beautiful fine day last year and enjoyed every minute of it.

P.S I will be flying the Datsun flag for us northern datto enthusiasts.
I will also get some more photocopies of the datto flyers that wombat handed out to us and try and promote our club and this Datsun 1200 website.
As this is the best site to go to for Datto info.
I will also take a few photo's (Datsun's only of course) and post on this site for you all to check out.
Anyway talk to you all soon.
GO THE DATTO!

Sounds like a good day to be had by all car enthusits!! I saw an add for this the other week on that car show that the guy who use to present sale of the century, the shannons insurance mananger (or what not) owns an incredible 240Z.. Really nice and race built so it flies, his car is also in the Nissan/Datsun sports owners club mag too!

Oct 16th.... hmm this could be an ideal way for us northerns to go down to Hobart and check out the Datto scene! What say, weeeee postpone or cancel the meet on the 2nd and go down to this thing? It would be one hell of a fun ride going down to see the sights & cars!!

Who knows we mite even pick up a bargin on the way back

Whats the thought fellas?
Dave

Oh and of course the coupe will win James, we'll show those southerns

just on that im pretty sure rory is still keen to sell this wagon (see my prevous post for phone number) the detail on this wagon floored me, if you see it at the next car show, do your self a favour and look under the rear, i have never seen a 1200 with standard coil suspension + rory has spent alot of time making every aspect of this wagon smooth

Hi all I think we should still keep the date for our datto meet, so we can get together and catch up on things.
Anyway I got my entry number/sticker from Shannons the other day and have a guess what entry number I am??????

Yep thats right number 120.
I couldn't believe my luck.
I will grab some photo's of the day and show you guy's for the next meet we have.

Oh and I am very sad to here that you bent up your 120y Tom.
I did a similar thing to my old burgundy 120y coupe that I have but all I bent was the drivers side Tierod end, and I wasn't very far from home so I was able to walk home and grab another one and go back and fix it, so I could drive it home again.
Anyway talk to you all real soon sunday 2nd 12pm inveresk. CAN'T WAIT.

Righto then keep the same date... We would really need to plan ahead for such a trip! I just had a great image of the coupe X2, toms ute, the cherry , the wagon, nicks ute etc. all in a convoy down to Hobart!! What a sight!!

agr012, is there a big Datsun scene down in hobart/south that you know of? In the summer holidays we should organise a state meet in Hobart or midway etc. im thinking...

Cant wait till the 2nd!

Dave

good to hear Tom, get the beast back on the road

I know this is a bit off the topic, but I just spent four days in Tasmania and I think you guys have been holding out on the rest of us.

It was one of the the most beautiful places I have ever been,

I drove past my dream house every five minutes ,in some places every sixty seconds.

If I could get a job there and talk my wife into it, I would be moving to Tassie tommorrow.

You lucky bastards.
