I have 14 superlites on a standard 78 ute right down to the drum brakes, I run 185/60 x 14 and they just rub the front guard occasionally and its not rolled.
According to the tyre size calculator in a similar thread, your 185 x 60 x 14's at 578mm are about 20 to 25mm larger in diameter than the original stockers.
The 185 x 55 x 14 size is 559mm in diameter & may well be just the right size to remove that occasional rubbing problem that you have.
Something to think about when you eventually wear out those front tyres. Leave the rears as they are & you will get a nice little bit of rubber rake.
Bloody nice looking ute too, even if it isn't a B20 [Me? biased? never.]

Edit
The Libres look good, & if the tyres are any good, they could be a bargain.

hey guys thanks for the positive comments on the ute. I like it and gets plenty of heads turning, at least once a day someone yells out go the datto or something similar.

Dodgeman will bear that tyre size in mind when these tyres get low if I still have it.

And if anyone else likes the ute it is up for sale 78 model, A14, new paint, wheels, interior etc etc.

I need something bigger to fit all my gear in for work and also the wifes pregnant with our second child so a dual cab would be perfect. If any one wants a tidy 1200 ute let me know

Chris

datto1200ute_qld, How much are you asking for the ute? I've seen it up at Paradise Point a couple of times and it looks awesome, very tidy.

hi all im running 15" x 6.5" R8's on my ute with a 195/45/15 tyre and they fit great on the back and i run a thin spacer on the front with the disk brack setup, but im looking at upgrading to 17" when i finish its current ground up rebuild in which we have flared the guard slightly

Hi dvs_one1

What struts are you running? what offset on the rims?

I was trying like hell to find a way to get 15x6.5's to work on a stanza front disk upgrade, but I couldnt get the right offsets

most likely an acid wheel cleaner and a brush with plenty of elbow grease, but it all depends on the type of alloy rims ie are they polished, painted, clear coated etc etc etc. some surfeces dont like acid so you may have to use something gentler
