high voltage ignition diode
Never heard of it ... "high voltage" means the coil. There is no diode involved with that, is there?

We can probably find some information for you. What is the engine out of? A Datsun 210 is a B310, and a 120Y is a B210.

the thing he is probably looking for is the ballast resistor-- wich lowers the voltage to
the coil to slow the burning out of points
your car most likely doesn't have one
if you have electronic ign..

Or perhaps the condenser.

If he had a workshop manual, it would make life easier.
