Noisy Springs

I'm recently hearing a squeeky noise from my right front spring, it only occurs when weight is applied to it and the steering wheel is turned at the same time, I tried spraying it with WD40, it stopped for a day, but it started again. Everytime I stop by a corner or to turn into a parking spot the noise comes up and its pretty embarrasing to be squeeking especially when the ladies are around (LOL). If anyone knows what can be causing this and what can be done to stop it I'll really appreciate the help. Thanks.

Get some think "REAL" grease, and apply it to the bottom and top of the spring, where it rubs against the cup. You will need to pull out the struts to do this properly. While you are at it, grease the thrust bearing in the top of the strut.

It can also be the radius rod. Apply the appropriate molybdenum grease to all of the rubber bushes in the front end.

This is what would be covered in a fair-dinkum "regular service".

Chris.

Sometimes a noise like you describe can be caused by a balljoint or tierod end staring to dry out.
If the grease on the spring trick doesn't work, try greasing the balljoints & tierod ends. (If they have grease fittings.) If there's no fittings & the noise starts getting worse you may want to replace the balljoints & tierod ends. The top strut support bearing may also be dry.
Good luck.
