Hi,

I'm trying to find an original steering wheel for my 1200 coupe. Somthing like the 2 pics attached. If anyone has one or knows of one for sale would love to hear from you.

I can't figure out how to post a pic, but if you do a search for "steering wheel" there are 2 pics under the photo album. One titled "factory datsun 1000 coupe sports option steering wheel" the other "GX5 steering wheel".

Thanks, I had a search around on the internet. Not much on them at all, let alone one for sale. I was thinking about fitting one from a 240k not sure if it will but it's worth a try.

I am planning to do the same thing as a 240K wheel is similar the wood ones for the 1200's,but the spline is bigger so I am planning to try and modify an aftermarket boss kit to fit ( great minds he)
cheers Ade

Let me know how you go with that. I'd be very interested to see how you do it.

The picture of the Datsun 1000 coupe "sports option" steering wheel is mine. It is the only one i have ever seen in life, & i bought it new from my friendly Datsun dealer in 1980. It was the last one that Nissan had in Australia.
It's going into my 1000 coupe.
My current avitar is a picture that i found on the net & shows the sports steering wheel nicely.

I wish you good fortune in finding another as there must surely be others in existance.

Daniel_77, there is a Datsun sports steering wheel for sale on a japanese auction site. Its currently 10,000 yen (about $135 Aus). heres the link:
http://www.rinkya.com/twview.pl?URL=http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h16134251

I can't really understand how to use this website, and I don't know if they could send it to Aus. Click on the 'translate to english button', and it makes a bit more sense.. (but not much)

James.
