Just curious to see what you guys think. i think this is the third thread for what you want done to your ute. when you have something add about a subject you've already brought up, use the "reply" button, not the "post new thread" button. you want to do ALL the mods to your L20 right? what is your project budget? how fast do you want to go? would you prefer an NA screamer or a turbo kit? will it be a carby or EFI? what is your suspension like? and the brakes? there are a million variables, so HELP US OUT HERE and specify what you want.

pro-240c, i'm going to recondition my A15.
but also while im doing so, i want to give it some beef behind it.. make it handle the power i want to go through it... budget ... $2,500 <-- including Reco. I've heard about this GX head you can use? what size cam am i looking at? do i want to flow the heads out, modify the inlet exhaust manifold ? im running a Down draft webber onto it atm, my bottom end bearing is gone on me so i need to work on that when i do the recon dont i ?? do i need stronger con rods? ?? I wanna rev it out, and not through pistons in the air

are you building a long motor, full reco?
are you doing it yourself or paying someone else? if you're doing it yourself (bar the head which just isn't worth the hassle) then you may just do it on that budget. you shouldn't need custom rods. a shotpeening and cryo treatment should be all you require if you use quality bearings. i have held 7500rpm (under load for what seemed like a good minute) on a reco'd bottom end with the aforementioned rods, a polished and cryo treated crankshaft, ARP bolts everywhere and cryo treated mains caps. when i took the engine apart it had 12mm You can view topic.
