Can someone please provide the information on bolt thread lengths and pitch of the A10 and A12 flywheel bolts.
Also the flywheel contact face flange diameter would be handy
Thanks in advance
Feral

I had always been of the belief & understanding that the flywheel bolts were dimentionally interchangeable for all of the A series engines.
I also believe that the back of the crank is dimentionally the same too, which allows the use of the lighter A12 flywheels on the A14/15 engines.

Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

If all of this is true, then any A series crank & flywheel bolt would serve as a sample. If a sample is unavailable, e-mail me & i will measure the A14 crank that i have.

My understanding on it was that the A10 and very first run of A12 had different bolt pitch, possibly 1.5mm whilst the later A12 along with A14 & A15 had 1.25mm pitch bolts.

There was definitely a difference.

As for flange diameters why don't you call a bearing & seal place and see what size rear main seals they supply for either engine.

And Dodgeman, you have a PM.

The early engines (A10 & A12) thread pitch is different and later bolts do not fit. Flywheels are the same bolt PCD and diameter but the pitch is different.

I was just wondering if anyone knew the pitch or had measured the early bolt pitch?

I may have to do some stripping and measuring and not be so lazy

I will post the results when done.

I would put money (not a lot) on the bolts having a fine pitch for their given outside dia. If you can post stating the bolt size I can provide you with the info on the pitch.
