whats better for strength, weight, ratios, width, ect. and how much wider is the corolla one as i dont want to flare the guards.

the 120Y and 70's Corollas have the same series Borg Warner diff. So neither is stronger or weaker than the other. It is simply the housing that is different between the 2 models. The Borg Warner is a locally made diff that was used in heaps of vehicles in the 70's due to local content/assembly laws. And was commonly fitted to much larger and more powerful vehicles. It's an absolute bonus for us that they stuck it in a couple of small cars that really did not need such a strong diff!
