I've finally got around to posting some 1200 pictures. They are all mine taken over the last 15 or so years. I added a folder called Kiwi Race Cars and added some modified engine pics to the engines folder. Over the Xmas break I'll dig up some more Datsun stuff and post it soon.

Stirlingmac your pictures rock. Made me homesick and got my right foot tapping! With the Marsh coupe you said that the floorpan was lifted - do you mean dropped like Pikey's or was something different done? Are they the same car? What motor did your Tranzam run? I loved your comment about the starter motor engaging at 9000 - is that a small block I can see through the hole?!Thanks for showcasing the depth of talent and cars that NZ has and we look forward to other Datty stuff being posted.

Glad you like them, Datsuns look so good with a set of fat feet and a good lowering. Tony Marsh's car was trick in as much that that the floorpan was lifted up to be level with the top of the door sill. The 2 bulges on the bonnet are to clear the strut tops! Pikey's car is a completely different weapon and went to Japan with an exchange student a couple of years back. The Marsh coupe is still here in NZ and possibly hidden away here in Wellington. The red, white and blue car ran a Marsh built A12 1298 and then got Marsh built CA1600 (240HP). The red & white car originally raced in the States as a 1200 but once it got here it had a 10A rotary fitted to run in the OSCA series down south. I bought the car from a guy in Timaru and fitted a peripheral ported 12A 285HP. The bang photo is that car, The engine was a 2 hr old Mazda factory built PP12A which cost me $9000 and after that most parts were junk including the close ratio gearbox and diff which cracked with the huge shock it got through it. I never knew the cars history until recently and I'm seriously thinking of returning it to Nissan power... I'm on the trail of a twin cam A series head that has been stashed away here so if I get that I might just have to build another engine for it.
