Hopefully this will rise from the ashes - been a well built car with a long ownership.

Gee you have a great memory David!! Been back in NZ 10 years now and aiming to have my A15 Lotus 7 built by mid-August in time for our new race season. Here's to the memories of the absolute lifeline that Datsun1200.com was while I lived in Aus and the US 2000 - 2008! Glad you are still well and faithfully serving the Datsun community.

Considering putting a turbo EFI A12 in my track only Locost 7. Aiming for a combined weight (including driver) of <500kg.

I have an H150 in the car at the moment and the following gearboxes are available: 4 and 5 speed 60A and a 3T Toyota (Dellow).

Any recommendations based on experience whether the 60A's and diff will hold together with such a package?

Advice appreciated!

In 1986 I bought a 1969 Fiat 125. Factory: twin cam 1608cc, rev counter, 4 wheel disc brakes and the ability to hit 170kph. Brilliant handling for a 4 door sedan.

Been spoiled by Datsun/Nissan reliability and performance since then so no to buying the 125 back My next car was a Fiat 124 Sport which was an absolute rocketship. Would buy her back in a heart beat.

I have two sets of 40's that I had rebuilt by Jeff at JTS when I lived in Sydney. Unused since then. Only prob is that I am in NZ now. Sing out if you can't find something closer to home.

Hi Dave - still working through the same issue with my FWD car down here except it is the left front chewing out. Current thinking is that because we may have added too much caster that the ackerman/slip angle/toe out with left steering input is causing the tyre failure that you are also describing. I was convinced to try Direzzas and was extremely disappointed with their overall tyre life - back to 888's now and, other than the left problem, there is plenty of life left in them after a full season and a work out at the Clubsport Nationals too.

Looking stout Harry. Interested in your thoughts in the Achilles after you have done a couple of events. Have run a set on the race car as wets after finding them squirmy in the dry. Thought the blocks were a bit chunky.

Yep you heard right - founder of BRE (Brock Racing Enterprises) who campaigned the 510 and other Datsuns in Trans Am US series in the late 60's and early 70's. He designed the BRE colour scheme which has been much copied ever since.
