I am thinking that a 120Y should have an H150 or a Borg Warner diff, neither of which will take the ute diff H165 head.

He lied, it wont, but you should be able to fit the whole ute rear end without too much trouble.

Using the original A-series engine? It must be either a high RPM race engine or supercharged. Would love to hear more details.

What ratio do you want to change it to. There are a limited number of ratios available in the different diffs, & the bigger, stronger ones, which have the widest range of ratio's, will need to have their axle housings narrowed, & axles shortened to fit under.

The early pre 80' utes ran the 145 diffs and they were 4:1:1. Though a 145 won't handle 195 Hp. Look on Trademe at the moment and you'll find at least 3 165 roadstar ute diffs for sale. They almost bolt straight in and will handle the power you have if you are gentle.

I think you will find it wont fit the STD 120y Diff, not the other way around.
