Ah I see - that is a rare engine indeed.
Publication number on the back is:
29311 (40730025)
The pics in the front on the third page are of a series 2 car sedan and wagon with the split grille, but if you go to each chapter heading page there is an illustration of the series 1 car with the earlier grille design. There is no mention of the series number anywhere..... Guess you might already have this one.....?
would like to see a pic at some stage! I do have a beatuful pic of the series 1 cedric wagon somewhere - got it off the planet cedric website......

Yes indeed! quite a pain but i think I'll end up- rebuilding it and putting it in the shed and install a L24 or something whilst it's a daily driver. The book sounds exactely like the 2 i already have but it's an earlier publication number, but I'll pass as money gonna be a bit tight.

The first series was the prettiest of the two and very rare - lucky you!

An L23 transplant might be good if you're going for a more authentic look - the bolts sticking thru the cam cover, the rekittable fuel pump etc are nice period touches....

Ok, open to sensible offers.
She's 100% datsun, solid as a rock - go anywhere.
Very eyecatching style. Very good condition.

If it was in adelaide I'd have snapped it up! But then I'm a tragic for an interesting Datsun. Go for it as these series 3/4 130 cedrics are fairly common and the mechanical parts are fairly easy to find even if you have to update to a L24. I haven't found a single item to suit the J20 in mine!
Great cruisers and always a back up tow car! There's a bloke in Curtin with a series 2.5 auto sedan too.
