hi there everyone im new to this club,i hope this is the right place to put this???

well basicly i want to write up a thread about this 1200 ute ,
im a spraypainter from melbourne and
myself and a fellow trademan are about to start work on a restoration of a 1972 datsun 1200 ute,i thought id like to post up a few pics and write about the progress being made as we go along,
also once the ute has been completed it will be up for sale,so keep that in mind ,
if someone out there is looking for a ute to suit a motor conversion ,possibly rotary,ca18,turbo,what ever then this could be one ute to look at!
basicly it will be getting a full bare metal respray to start with this includes the interior, engine bay and out side,so the gneral out come of the ute will be up to a show room condition,

ive worked on many many restorations in the years that i have been a painter so i have all the experince nessary to undertake a project like this, also the fellow tradesman who will be working along side me on this has just restored his own car up to imaculate condition.

i my self have just finished a basic tidy and paint on a ke55 corolla ,which can be viewed at rolla.com under box on wheels, and last year i finished a full restoration on a series 2 rx7 which came out to a great finish,

so having said all that the next one is the datsun 1200 ute,
it will be having 2 tradesman painters and one tradesman panelbeater working on it so we can pretty much guarentee a good out come ,

now this is the first datsun i have worked on so i hope that you for give my ignorance if i ask a stupid question or2 about parts etc,no dout ill be getting to know the little datsun very well over the next few months ,but still i may need to ask you guys a few things ,hope you will help me out if needed ,cheers in advance,

ill try to figure out how to put the pics up shortly

ok well today i got a smashed guard and painted it with the preposed colour,
now the paint is a custom mix of colour and pearls so reasonably guarenteed that there wont be another ute with the same colour!!!

so please any one comments on the colour ,id like input of what people think,

we are reasonably happy with how it looks ,has several flips pink, red purple etc, would look great in the sun, unfortuatley another beautiful cloudy rainy day here in melbourne!!!!

last one of the colour on a smashed guard,
the colour has a real glow about it and the pearls really give a good flipping effect,
