Been bracing things a bit, made a triangular plate for the other side of the chassis rail where the steering box bolts also did one for the idler side. Thinking about making a steering box top brace, anyone running one and has it distorted your strut tower at all? Im a little concerned about bolting it up the way maddat and datsport do.

Bought myself a dial indicator last week and got the cam timed at 3am this morning, bloody love the multi holed cam gear, set it advanced 2degrees also used my freshly reground rocker arms that I have balanced and lightened, you would not believe how much variation there is between rockers in weight, wipe pattern was smack on which I was stoked about that they didn't need different lash pads.

Then made a few more brakelines today... would of got them all done, but need to buy a couple more olives because i want to redo the ends on one line. Then welded up the exhuast on my mums magna which took the rest of the morning before work.

Cheers mate, getting a bit handier on the welder after I watched you two the other week.. went to some .8 wire (was using .6) and its heaps easier to weld the thicker stuff.

How long have I got Nick... Im thinking about 6 weeks away from a running car.

Dan, thats what Im finding with welding and most things in general, good prep, plenty of time and you get a good result.

yeah 6 weeks is about right, sedan comes off the road in about 20 days, no more rego, and hoping to have the wagon ready for paint around then
so maybe more of a bet that i can be driving around in an A series wagon and have a CA sedan sitting around before you drive this

Bets on, I reckon I'll win ha ha, I've done more in the last month than I have all this year.

Does anyone run a carter 4600 pump, I have two, using one at the moment and will plumb the second one in parallel at a later date as backup or increase of flow? Its rated at 8psi at 100gph, says its self regulating but I think I will regulate it anyway as I don't trust the pump to regulate to 1.5psi.

Working on the fact that 1 gal = 6lb. You need 1/2 lb of fuel to feed 1hp for 1hour, 100gph x 12 = 1200hp

Anyone know what flow will be at 1.5psi, I know it will dramatically decrease?

yeah you probably will win...i seem to be spending alot more time building a mates CA ke30 than i am on my wagon, mainly coz i'll steal it off him so that ive got a car when its done

flow will increase with a less pressure wont it?
i was running a facet solid state pump on the L18 and it never had any supply problems
so id say one carter pump would be more than enough, think ange is running one of them for his rotor and it seems to do fine

I was told flow decreases when you regulate it to a lower pressure, thats my thinking behind the running of two pumps, whats the flow going to be like at 1.5psi, Im thinking not a whole lot. The other reason for two pumps is a fail safe if one wasn't do its job properly or fails altogether.

I know they aren't the most reliable things, holley pumps fail quite a lot. Plus I plan on this thing drinking a fair bit of fuel in the future.
