still running hot! |

well the saga continues. pulled water pump, appeared to be ok, spins freely and no corossion, looks almost new still. Put in gemini radiator and replaced all hoses with beeter looking ones. Test drove, still heats up under load and above 80kmh. Pulled thermostat, still does it. This has got me puzzled. Will work out how to back flush engine (guess a high pressure wattercleaner into the top radiator hose wont work either... running out of options. Ange reckons ditch the thermofan and test.im starting to think maybe there is a blockage internally some where. Timing is still ok and no oil in the water or water in the oil.

yeah its possible, my 120Y runs hot, had me stumped. No water in oil, no oil in water, brand new core in custom twin pass radiator etc. Then had it running with the radiator cap off and theres a lovely stream of bubbles, blip the throttle and it bubbles up heaps But it uses very little water and doesnt blow steam.

what i meant is test the thermo
its blade orientaion and spin direction
i know you said you set it up right and im not questioning your intelligence, but its worth double checking becuase its an easy thing to stuff up.. (i did first time round)
paper test is fool-proof

Theres a franchise in Adelaide called MEGAFLUSH they can flush your engine block in the car with some chemical. It may be worth trying someone like that in your state.
Cheers. Adam.

paper test has been so successfult it created its own confetti parade on its original voyage (i let got fo the paper ) reading some things now, mentions overrunning, some time it does this when hot... thought it was the su's. will also get another radiator and remove the thermo fan (i removed the thermostat) no light left now, will have to wait for the week end.
