400-500.

Keeping in mind that a full racing gx head will still go for 3.5-4k.

Head stuff cost alot because it takes time and you cant really do it fast.

I paid $1150 for my ported head with new linished valves, seats, stem seals, competition springs, retainers.
And the bloke threw in a pair of mikuni side draughts and an intake manifold for free, which I got $400 for alone. So guessing a second hand worked head would sell for $600-$750?

Jacob you could get a book on porting and actually do what you need yourself. Where not talking a Pro flow bench job here just cleaning up casting marks. Many year back I cleaned up my the ports on my GX head as well as CCing it. Pretty straight forward but you need to go slow. After I was done I had the valve seats cut and I reassembled it.
Now for anything beyond a basic clean up , pay the money it's worth every penny. You do have a good idea , you might be able to by someone's B level cylinder head for a good price.
