Could just be noone from WA logged on in time to see the question...before it was bumped of the front page?

I imagine the modification rules are on the traffic authority (for your state) website.

You can rego a CA18DET in Vic, NSW I know...but WA?

Sometimes it takes a while for members to pick up on threads. I don't think it was a crazy question. I'm fairly sure that in Queensland there is a rule where the kerb weight of a standard car is put into a calculation and thereby giving the maximum volume engine size. I think that Qld rule allows for a maximum of 2 liter natural aspirated or 1.8 turbo. There are no other mandatory requirements here like brake upgrades or drive line upgrades. The conversion must be approved by a mechanical engineer and have a blue mod plate attached and this has to be veiwed by dept. transport.
Having said that I have seen sr20 motors (turbo) in a 1200 . So take absolutely no notice of me !!!
