Hi all my name is Rich and I live in San Diego California USA. I've had 3 1200s over the years and love them. I have always liked the look of the utes and would love to own one. How can I get one in the US. Any body have a lead on one any condition.

Hi Cobraguy welcome to the site....can't help you with the 1200 ute search, if you lived in OZ you could take your pick...
I think Japan sent more utes to Australia because we have to by law pick up any dead Kangaroos on the side of the road...

Cheers..

Hi Rich, it's easy. Just find someone willing to take it to shipping location and pay the money. Ok so that's the hard part.

If you want to get one and drive it home, there are some for sale in Costa Rica.

Good idea, but I recommend the other down under. You see we cannot bring a new vehicle into the USA. But we can bring in anything 25 years old or older.

I've often wondered if you purchased a new 2007 B140 without engine and transmission if you could bring it in as a "kit car". I don't know the answer to that.

Thanks I was kind of thinkin that way. I have a thing for trucks without seems. I own a 61 Ford unibody, a 63 Ford ranchero I balieve thats a falcon ute to you Aussies. They have these little GEO based things that come up from Mexico that I've seen. The first time I saw a 1200 ute was in Aruba and I was smitten. I have thought about whackin the back of a coupe but that'd be just wrong. Costa Rica you say hmmmmm.

Unfortunately the 1400 bakkie production line has been stopped somewhere this year.

I wish I could have bought the last one coming of the assembly line. I would have gotten them to make a special Nissan plate for me at the plant to put in the engine bay saying that this was the last one coming from the production line at for example 13:30 on 2007/08/30.
