I just made a halfhearted attempt to search the old posts but came up short. My question is, what are the empty and full ohm readings for a stock 1200 fuel level sender? I want to put Auto Meter gauges in George and Marty (two of my 1200s) and am far too lazy to check it myself. Besides, I'm at work and the cars are across town at my shop. I figured someone here should know this kind of stuff.

Actually, no one here knows. The Factory Service Manual does not say.

Someone could measure a "good" working unit ... and let us know. Actually if we get several measurements we could document the the average.

*sigh* I guess I'm going to have to get off my lazy butt and measure it then. I'll try to remember to post my results. Heck, I might even remember to post the Auto Meter part number for the correct gauge. Pshyeah! Like that'll happen!

1200 Sedans are easy to check, since the sender is in the trunk ...

Tim, if you post your readings, I promise to go out and check mine and post it here for a comparison.

Some of us know, we just don't remember.

For whatever reason ( i can't find my old notes) I use an Autometer 3515

Summit
It needs 10 ohms full, 73 ohms empty.
So, in my sedan, Full is past "F", half tank is at "1/4" and empty is the "E" line.

Oh wait...
BONUS ROUND !!!
I found the the unfindable spare sedan sender. It says 12 ohms full / 88 ohms empty. That's moving the float up and down from stop to stop.

Hope this helped.

Indeed it may. I'll still think about considering looking into the possibility of my crawling under the coupe for a test there, but I'll probably wind up buyibg according to your readings. Thanks.
