Reverse lights with T50 conversion |

Has anyone who's got a toyota T50 gearbox in their dattos ever bothered to hook up the reverse lights?
So far what ive done is got a relay switch that is activated when earthed which then allows current in the globe wires.
only problem is i cant get the earth to work for revese gear, it only works for 5th gear....
i cant find on the gearbox, the wire where i should hook this relay to so that when i select reverse the lights come on.
there are 2 wires. the one i had it on is for top gear, and the other one doesnt seem to do anything.
anyone have any experience with this??

perhaps you are using the 5th gear switch and the reverse switch is busted?
When I did mine I put a wire from the ignition barrel (power) to one side of the switch, then another wire from the other side of the switch through the reverse lights and grounded it to the chassis.

im taking the gearbox out over the next few days so i will be able to investigate more from there. thanks for the input.

mine was installed by dellow and wot they done was put a little switch hidden near the handbrake....the reason for this was cause you done really need them untill the blueslip bloke goes...''ok now reverse lights'' and there you have it...i am planing to hook it up tho cause ya get sicka people goin ''um ur reverse lights dont work...no sh*#t dickhead
