The casting is comparably expensive trying to get a big batch out of one badge. I have found one badge, I'm just waiting to receive it. If I can start the batch with two badges this means the casting begins with two samples, essentially twice the amount produced for the same casting time which means the cost comes down.

If you could get that one to me and it will bring down the costs for everyone who is interested in getting one.

These ones will be in bronze (with the best electroplater on side to apply the chroming) super strong and much more durable when being installed/removed. If it costs more to cast the pins into them I'll look leave them out. But I'd like them as close a replica as possible.

Stuart (1000deluxe) kindly donated his, so he gets one maybe two badges for free (along with his original badge returned) .

Oh! That's the one I saw in Toowoomba. Got it muddled with the other rotary 1000 that has the fishing-lure-purple paint job.

That's a 2 door (better than the coupe!). Go for it, everyone needs more projects!

I've been molding them in silicone, pouring machinist waxes and having them investment cast in stainless steel. They last and stay polished forever! $50-75USD a piece depending on the size...

Thanks LT.

I'm still looking for a boot badge, for the record I don't want the JDM 'Sunny 1000' badge, those are plentiful- you can even get them NOS from Japan.

I'm looking for the 'Datsun 1000' badge that featured on all the export models:

Is this the cursed JDM ones you speak of?
And yes, someone has glued the crap outta it as the pins seem to be missing :(

JDM ones say Sunny.

That's just a Datsun badge off something else glued in front of your '1000' part of the old badge...... seems you need a real one too!

Bump.

This by far the hardest part I have ever tried to get, everything else as rare as it seems I have managed to locate and source but a boot badge!
