Cheap generally equals broken. Most turbo motors have had a hard life.,

I'd recommend you check the silvia websites and buy from someone swapping the ca18 for a sr20. Don't buy one that's been sitting around in a garage for years.

The engine is 17 years old. I guess the lack of RWD cars for the past 15 years is the reason why the CA18 is still the best option, other than an SR20 (in states where it's legal).

Datto dude is right.
Your buying someone's word when buying a half cut. Sitting around in Japan, then cut up, sit some more, thrown around into containers, stacked on top of each other - you get the point... Most yards are pretty good because their reputation is important to them. but, some are just after a buck. I bought a CA18det off a guy who was going SR20det and I could test drive it in the car, perform all tests - comp check, blow smoke, oil preassure etc. Look around with a little bit of patience and maybe might be a little cheaper too.
