Hi, have just sourced a CA18DET for my 1200 ute project. RTA guidlines list maximum eng cc's as 2.5 x original tare.
I was under the impression that the ute was 690kg. It is also missing original compliance plate although I have the rego sticker and front plate from 2005.
I know there are quite a few CA18DET 1200s around, but I dont want to get caught out when it comes to rego. There is no listed engineer closer than 250 odd k away.

I think that the original tare that the RTA adopt would come in at 720kg as that is the highest weight of the 1200 model (the coupe I think). But yes I believe that the ute is 690kg.

Yep, RTA approved engineers are few and far between...

EDIT: Welcome to the site... there is a heap of info in the wiki section and you can use the search to find previous threads, 70% of the questions that you can ask will already have been answered, you just have to find them...
