distributor vacuum line?

hi all
my a12 had valve saver fluid connected to the carby and i found out that it replaced the dizzy vacuum line for the advanced spark. do i really need the valve saver fluid???

You can always add it manually each time you fill up, thats all I've ever done. I like to run it, I've seen the results of with and without on A series engines, and it does save the valves.

Alternatively, you could 'T' the vacuum line.

No valve saver is a load of bollocks on a alloy head'd car like a A series. Its only "needed" on old cast heads. So just unplug the valve saver, thow it in the bin and put the vac line back on your dizzy. Should run better too.

runs heaps better now.
when i give it a boot full it dosnt cough and splutter anymore.
now i just needs some new spark plugs!!

thats because without the vacume advance connected the spark will remain the same whenn you give it a gut full making it cough and splutter
i would recomend running flash lube tho

if i do what pendles said ant 't' the vacuum line the flash lube stuff would harm the dizzy in ne way would it?
