so the front brakes on my 1200 stick, i took it with my dad friend which is a mechanic, and cant figure out the problem.
so pressure in the lines builds up and wont release, leading to the brakes sticking and heating up severely.
we have replaced the master cylinder, and have checked the calipers. any idea what it could be?
or what i could do an easy brake upgrade with?

I was told by a Brake Shop once that old flexible hoses can separate inside and create what effectively becomes a one way valve. The fluid will build up pressure but then it doesn't release when you remove the initial pressure. Anyhoo, try some new hoses that go from the hard lines to the callipers

the main rubber thing in your master cylinder might be stickin, its what happen to mine. you might need to put a hon (not sure how to spell) through it.

Yes, it could be a bad brake hose, but more common is that the Caliper piston is sticking.

To test, when they are stuck, crack the bleeder and let some brake fluid out. If they unstick, it's probably the hose. It they stay stuck, it is the caliper sticking.

Check both sides so you can compare how to the good one acts compared to the bad one.

Make sure that you are not using a drum brake master cylinder. They have a bleed down restrictor valve that prevents disc brakes from releasing quickly.

what master cylinder are you using, sounds like the master is not releasing the pressure.
