This made me happy,

The Redline twin weber manifold I got off gylezy - 30mm x 40mm port size and 45mm where the weber bolts on.

Good thing I got 45mm webers!!!!

Now to see if the SU gx manifold can be ported to those specs and get the head matched to both!!!!

Well I just don't know what to do really.

Looking back over the last year or so I've had the 120Y I gotta say I've had so much fun playing around with this lil car, trying different things, learning about engines in general and about A series more specifically and so on,

I have def fallen in love with the "BabyB".

Unfortunately my mate, due to financial restrictions, has pulled out of our SR20DET 200B Project.

As a result I have a 200B SSS Sitting in my yard that needs to be driven and I think I'm gonna have to sacrifice the much more common 120Y for the sake of keeping a "rare" Datto on the road.

So I guess the time has come for me and my beloved 120Y to part ways.

Rather depressing really, I love the spritely handling of the Yeehah and the insane roar of the weber through the 2inch zorst, its been a blast driving this thing!

People constantly have this WTF look on their faces when that rumble from along side turns out to be a 120Y.

Well now I'm getting nostalgic and I haven't even put up an ad yet...

Anyway today is a sad day :(

That is sad, but if you really love the 200B then you best give it the respect instead of turning it into one of those "ah mate I never got around to that one" sorta thing with cats making babies and whatnot

So what happens when you find 2 x 1 3/4 british sus in good condition for $60???

Well you start thinkin about a cheap suck through turbo for the L20B thats coming out of your 200B SSS naturally.

And then ebay comes to the party that night with this...

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.d ... geName=ADME:X:AAQ:AU:1123

so $326 later and I'm sort of gettin excited!!!

I was already planning to do L series into the 120Y but after reading threads like TopGear's and Datsonovic's a suck through sounds like a fair bit of fun and quite achievable with a wide band O2 sensor and a file to shape the needle!!!

So can anyone give me any tips or warnings about these setups, bearing in mind that 2 litres @ 10psi is gonna be about all I need to have stupid amounts of fun in a sub 900kg car?

Cheers, Jon

I'm not sure what all the pipes and stuff are for yet but thats what this is all about.

Pushing the envelope, maxing the learning curve and so on.

Will be running it with a 1 3/4 inch Brit SU like this, but one with vac advance nipple if necessary - I really dont know much about turbos yet!!!

So while I've been at work I decided to make use of the remaining 20mins of lunch after I eat.

Now I've almost finished the adapter plate for the suck through setup.

Here's it after Lunch Time #1

All I got left to do is weld the pipe on and port from the carby side a nice gradient out towards the pipe at the back.

Picked up my new front end today:

MR30 Skyline Struts (twin pot and vented discs, fits under 14 inch rims), custom x-mem for front sump 2.0l Datto/Nissan (inc L20B, FJ20, SR20) engines and everything else suspension related

Might need a stumpy box to avoid cutting the trans tunnel but i'm prepared to do that anyway.

To finish I'll need an auto 180B tailshaft but things are looking good for the L series conversion.

Its a bit of a cop out using this setup. I just unbolted it from a coupe today so I know it'll all just slot in.

A bit too easy, but hey it was there and I like easy!!

And just to finish off here's the completed flange for the suck through turbo.

I ported the flange out with a die grinder once it had been welded up round the inside so I'm pretty confident its air tight.

Last weekend ripped the A12 out and started on the front end but was brought to a halt by one bolt that decided to spin in place and not come out. Its weird as, still holds the whole front end in while spinning with a ratchet. Grrrrr. Time for a hacksaw me thinks!!

On the plus side I found that it looks like the MR30 brakes will go under my 13inch Jellies (Sampson Engineering 13x6)

They certainly fit on over the brakes anyway!!!

New front end is in with a couple of problems though

The bolts that mount the swaybar bracket to the chassis are stuffed.

One was snapped off in there from someone else and the other ripped the thread and spun itself a hole.

Not sure what to do, tap a new hole bigger than the original?
Weld it to the chassis?

Apart from that I'm gonna drop the Z22 in there to see if it'll fit with the 720 sump.

Love weekends ;)
