Well i'm back to being a proud Datsun Owner!!!!

It's been about 12 months since i sold my last 1200 coupe and felt at the time that my love for the Datsun was not strong enough to keep me from selling it and buying a more 'practical' daily driver.

I made a terrible mistake!!! As good as my SX Corolla was it just lacked that certain something, that certain X factor. It used to come to the weekend and i would give the Corolla a bath and take it for a spin and it just didn't feel the same. I had no connection with it. I just never felt as if it was truly mine.

So it has been sold and i have now re-entered the Datsun family. I have bought myself D4TM4N's 1976 120y GL sedan. It's got a little rebuilt A12 with a mild cam and oversized pistons, bored out a little with an exhaust system. All it really needs is a little 32/36 weber carb and some extractors and it will rip, all internals are done. It's pretty mint, especially the interior. Has 16 inch starcorp mags and a respray in the original Blue, tinted windows, alarm and stereo.

So all in all a great new base for me to improve again and again. More importantly though it has CHARACTER!!! I have already named it 'Baby' and can't wait to spend my weekends giving it a nice bath, making my own little mods, and more importantly cruising around in true Datsun style!!!

Look forward to seeing everyone around the place and chatting again on here.

Cheers
Trav

Thanks a lot guys.

LOL Wurzel!!!

Yeah don't worry it will be the first thing done within the next few weeks. Not sure wether to go king spring lows or super lows though.

At first i was thinking just lows cause i don't want it scrubbing but when i got it home and saw how high it really is i'm thinking it needs the super lows???

What do you guys think???

How attached to the rims are you?
you could get some smaller ones. Might help in getting it to sit lower/stop scrubbing.
Older style rims might also look cooler all round...but I'm biased in that dept :/

Well i'm usually the same as you and prefer the old school style rim, but in this case i actually like these rims and always have. Seen a few over the years and they are about the only 'new' style rim i like on a datto.

I might go and have a chat with the local suspension guy and see what he reckons. I think i could probably get away with super lows. Tyrie used to have these rims on a 120y and he had it on it's arse and it didn't look as though he had to flair the guards.

Not too worried about sitting under the back guard, more just the front scrubbing when turning.

Hmmmmm will have to do some calculations me thinks.

Ya they definitely fall into the least-offensive category for a newer rim.
Lovin that grille! Don't think I've ever studied one before enough to notice there's some serious post-deco design going on there :)
