Hello all,
i replace the windscreen in my car yesterday with the help of wiki and my wife
but i have read conflicting answers to sealer do i use it or not?

Also is it possible that new glass has saved weight as the new one felt lighter than the old, not that i care as im fat so weight savings are pointless lol.

FYI i got the glass from a supplier $95 i thought this was cheap.

Indeed $95 is cheap. I just called windscreens obrien they want $428 to supply and install and $159 extra for the rubber also called national windscreens $245 plus $150 for the rubber. where do I get a new windscreen for $95?

demacoz, ring one of the smaller more private places, pretty sure i have had them supplied and fitted under $200

the fitting is usally only $50 if you get them to just come and fit one, so it's not worth fitting yourself in my opinion

if you need rubber that will cost 150-200, and prob best to get from scottsoldautorubber website

NAGS national auto glass supplies riverwood
and the rubber was 69 i think?

So if someone would do it for $200 id say go for it as they may offer som warranty
on the fitting?

you shouldn't use sealant, just the new rubber, just make sure it's all clean around where the window sits

with chrome strip allowance or without is an option when you purchase the rubber.

if you get with allowance it does not include the chrome... just has the ability to have it put in

this option doesnt effect price

and i agree, with a new rubber you should not require nay sealant
