Hey guys I was hoping for some help here. I have just gone and bought myself a weber 38 dgas with an electric choke and I have no idea where or how to hook the choke up. I can only think of 2 options, 1 being somehow hook it up to the temp gauge so that it opens it up at a certain temp OR 2 just hook it up to a source of power and it detects the temp itself and opens and closes all by itself? I have no idea, any help would be appreciated. Also is it even worth hooking up or should I just take the choke out(by which i mean taking the chokes butterflies out as well as the rod)? Thanks guys

wire it up to switched 12 Volts. you could wire it directly to the battery for testing purposes, but long term it is not a good idea as the cct would be continuously energised

I connect mine to the Coil +. Or if you running a coil with resistor (stock 1200 setup), wire it to the resistor 12V side.

a little out of context, im not sure yours is DGAS or DGES because, the letter A in DGAS stands for water choke (A for Aqua). perhaps yours is DGES. E is for electric choke.
