CA_1200_project, some quick pics. Didn't have time to move stuff as it was before work :s. Thinking about painting inside cage black and rear bars same color as car.

Thanks for that mate did you do it yourself?. Next time yohe working on the rig and have time can you get some more? It all looks real neat and simple. Did you have a hole put in your dash for the A-pillar bar? Tempting to put a cage in my ute and if I knew it could be engineered with it I would for the sake of it+safety of course!

Hey buddy, are you planning on engineering this car ?? I know I am from another state but when I mentioned to my engineer I wanted a cage. He said not a chance, no bars can protrude from origanl trim.. Main hoop and some supports out side the cabin no worries.. Just have never heard of a full cage being street legal I any car..

Whould be good to hear what you have been told...

Thanks mate !!

smurf_11, The state does play a part, so does the engineer. What doesn't he like about a 6 point that cant be engineered in your state. Needs removable side bars. Saying no bars can protrude from trim doesn't make sense. Padding needs to be added to my cage around head area. I cant link you to sites atm because my cable is capped to 56k. Google search 6 point (state) street cars

No worries buddy... I have def found that most engineers have very different views on what can and can't be done. There's nothing doesn't like about it, just said your not allowed to do it...

Will def look into it a little more tho...

Love your build bro, keep up the good work

had a few jack daniels cans :O inspiration pictures

First ute; love watching it at the drags runs 8.9s. This datsun was one of the first ones i really took interest in.

compound turbo setup was done on a 2litre engine made 650hp+ 45psi with a slipping clutch. I thought was pretty cool because no one really did it before then on a small 4 cylinder engine.

datsun sedan ca18det makes 800hp+ which is cool

Had a day off last week and had a chance to start fitting the dash. Sumps fitted, connect up the turbo drain lines. Next 3 weeks should be good progress i hope. Thinking about running external water pump and that means that a metal plate will cover the area where the water pump/pulley is. More space for bigger radiator/fan.
