the photo speaks for itself really...

after nearly 6 years, about 30,000k's and 2 and a half years worth of track/hillclimb days the old bridgeport has retired

it spat a couple of apex seals at sandown last weekend
big thanks to don/simon for their help & lending of tools trackside

i'll miss that engine, although the datsun gods are probably really happy

I have wondered if it had made it home ok. Is the rotor apart yet? Did theseals destroy anything due to their failure?

made it home ok, thanks again don.
i havent pulled the motor apart but you can see some scoring on the rotor (through the exhaust ports) so id
say that the front housing is shot aswell.

im undecided on what to do from here. the brigeport was a great thing and ive had loads of fun with it
but i dont have the desire to rebuild it, ive been on that journey and enjoyed it a lot.

at the moment im thinking of a more street friendly setup but that could change....

No problemo Ange. I'm always happy to help where I can. It is a shame the diagnosis ended up being what it was. You are going to keep it rotor aren't you? It would be a shame to move away from that. A nice extend port, maybe injection? But even a tame extend port with a standard carby would be super fun in the ute.

Hey Ange
A bit sad but that's motorsport. It has to happen at some stage. That little ute is to clean to keep flogging it on a racetrack. Put a warm rotor back in it and find a track car to abuse. You could probably buy mine as i just spat out another turbo and am a bit pissed off atm.
Good luck with it buddy
Bob

yeah it will definately stay rotor powered,

your right bob i probably shouldnt flog it around the track too much
but then it very rarely gets driven on the street these days either
