Starting to buy all the engine parts i need for the engine rebuild just need a set of Pistons, bottom end bearings, Ross harmonic balancer and Baffled sump to finish off the parts list and then i can send the block and head away for cleaning, machining and re-assembly.

The other image is of a spare engine that I bought in sydney with a spare gbox that has a "suspected" dropped valve in cylinder 1. The guy i bought it off wasnt very descriptive with what happened but I'll pull it apart and see whats wrong with it. If has over revved it my money is on a valve spring or a burnt valve. The engine still turns over by hand so we'll just wait and see. If it hasnt damaged a lot internally, I'll throw a new set of gaskets on the top end with new head bolts and put it back into the car until my other engine is ready to go. I'll keep you guys posted with progress.

Pulled cylinder head off block. Found a score in cylinder 2 and valve has been nicked. Excess piston slap in cylinder 2 and 4 as in I can physically move piston side to side. Looks like it's back to the drawing board and engine in the bin

It's been a while since I've posted anything here on the forum regarding the rebuild, So the block and gearbox are now removed from car ready for rebuild and while I'm at it I have been getting a new dash made up which now features a digital voltmeter, boost gauge, oil pressure and water tempreature plus the tachometer and shift light. I basically just tidied everything up so it's all closer together and more functional and a carbon fibre looking finish completes it . Next step is dissassembly of block and machining.
