A15 idle

Hey guys the top of my carb (standard) on my a15 was leaking a bit so I decided to change the gasket anyway i changed it all good and now it won't idle and it just running terrible so I swapped it for a late model a12 carb i had sitting around and it does the same thing but prior to this she ran great any body had a similar problem? Thanks

It might help if you take the carb and clean it with air and specifically check your idling jet for blockage. check the electrical wiring as well on the valve/solenoid. Worst case scenario strip,clean everything very well,dry, check jets and reasemble.
Or you can just chuck it and fit a weber !!!

Several things can cause these symptoms, so start with the most common causes, and the ones that are easiest to check.

That's not caused by the gasket. There is no pressure on the top of the carb, and the fuel level is supposed to be way below that. If you look at the sight-glass, is the level right on the dot?

This can be caused by the wiring to the idle-cut solenoid. Both A15 and late-model A12 carbs have them. If it's not getting voltage, swapping the carburetor won't help, it will just have the same problem.
