I have 1200 disc brakes up front and they seem to
Hit the strut. I no 240k struts and brakes clear with the wheels
But can i use spacers or get those s13 adaptors
And do the s13 disc brake upgrade?
Cheers

Yes:

* 5.5" wide R31 steelies fit

Open in new window

* 6" and 7" wide Sillouettes won't fit the B110 or early B210 disc-brake strut

Will fit with spacers. 6" wheels probably need a +5 offset to fit the 1200 front. Offset of +10 to +30 is best for the rear.

that red car has Stanza struts and R31 14x5.5 steelies.

S13 brake upgrade won't really change your fitment - only by the thickness of the disc over the hub.

I wouldn't buy spacers to make steelies fit. Put the money towards a set of mags that fit.

Also if you have increased castor (like the red car), the wheel arch needs some trimming for the larger 14" tyres. But with stock suspension, the 5.5s fit, reportedly.

bigger brakes. back in the '90s it was one of the most common upgrades because it was easy and cheap, but there's issues with the increased track it gives, and the struts are longer which reduces your suspension stroke. There's better options these days.

Stanza struts aren't better, they are bigger and heavier. They also have a longer hub, so the wheel is a bit farther away from the strut tube. This is why the 6" pursuits fit without hitting the strut.

The main reason people install the Stanza struts is to get the large Stanza brakes.

just check it now its stamped 6.00 but measure 17.5cm with is 6.6 inchs.
the car is going to be CA18det in the future.
Is buying stanza struts the only option?

I doubt stanza struts would be considered sufficient for a CA18DET conversion. S13 brakes would be a much better option.

Wheel width is measured between internal beads where the tyre sits. Most wheels overall width is about an inch wider than that.

If you really want to use those steelies, you can get them altered by a wheel works. Won't cost much more than spacers either. Better off just buying some alloys IMO
