Ca18det block question

Hi guys can anyone tell me what the ca18det block is made off?is it cast alloy?Also is billit better than forged meaning crank,rods and pistons.

The block is cast iron. For forged or billet items with a CA you won't really have a choice, there are few items available and most obtain excellent results without having to go custom. I would stick with standard crank (balanced with grub screws fitted), forged pistons and forged conrods at most. You could get a billet stroker crank if going all out....

Hi guys is it worth changing the main caps to something like billit ones just for abit more strength.Spool sells them,not cheap ,but for piece off mind.

i wouldnt worry about billet main caps if your not pushing 700+HP. Just run arp main bolts. If your running the spool crank i would .

Yeah defiantly the ARP studs alround,i have decided that im going to stroke it and as far as the main caps go im going the spool billet ones.And yes a know people in the know have said don't bother but I just cant help myself I want the best off everything and want the gaurentee that its not going to let go and blow the 5-7g its going to cost me to build.As I have said before if it takes me another 4yrs to get it on the road well so be it.
