Had my rocker cover hydro dipped. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but I think it came out alright and its definitely unique. We originally had it done in Carbon fiber but due to the pattern being almost like a grid, we couldn't get it to a point where we were happy with the finish and didn't look realistic enough. This was caused by the cable lugs which moved the pattern in a different direction when they hit the water!

Had some of my engine parts HPC coated for a bit of bling factor. Not quite the finish of metal polishing but at least it won't tarnish over time.

Had to get the water pump polished though as it's a sealed unit and couldn't be taken apart. Still waiting to get it back.

What chrome did the B120 inherit? The stainless grille comes to mind, but that was replaced with plastic in 1978 and so were the chrome tail lenses

Not sure but I think D was referring to the fact I inherited the car from my grandfather who has since passed and so it is deserving of the extra cash I am spending on it.

I'm going full GX for the ute. Bonnet, grille, fender mirrors.

Sounds good!

Go with the GX-5 coupe grille and the tape stripe. Very few pickups/ute have been fitted with the tape stripe

Some of those kakhi colours on the rocker cover is what Im aiming for on my next duco along with either gold meshies or traditional watanabes. If anyone is fortunate enough to inherit such a fine ride then nothing should be out of the question in expenses. That ute DD is sweet but tiring to see the red or blue anodising & blue hoses, period dattos deserve some contrasting modesty to compliment all the other finely finished features.
Excellent work Rure-D :)
